"Flowers In Flames, cracked the European Alternative Charts when it came out at the end of the year. It's easy to hear why it would connect with a Euro fan base."
    Jeff Niesel, Scene Magazine

"One easily identifies influences but we must recognize that the Group has a unique and very personal way to assemble them to create something unique. I hope that these four pieces are Pathfinders for a new album because if this is the case, we will be spoiled." Twilight-Guts Of Darkness, Monday 25,March 2013-FranceTwilight, Guts of Darkness

"Everything and Nothing is already international as it was released digitally on the Parisian "Post-Punk and Dark Indie" label Zorch Factory Records and distributed by the German-based AFMusic. In Europe, where the post-punk/darkwave sound largely originated, the EP has spent nine weeks on the European alternative charts, peaking at No. 8 and still holding in the top 20."
Malcom X. Abram, Akron Beacon Journal

"Their new EP "Everything and Nothing" has been making noise on the European Alternative Charts peaking at Number 8."
Emmet Smith, The Cleveland Plain Dealer

"An excellent alternation between moods, a seesaw that gives "Everything and Nothing" a worthy debut."
Nicola Tenani, Sounds Behind The Corner/Italy/

"Flowers in Flames new EP-Everything and Nothing.Spirited guitar, a driving bass and a comfortable song voice united with trampling drums yield a sound that pulls the listener immediately into an entirely new world. Flowers In Flames offers it's entirely own interpretation of such bands as Joy Division or The Cure, mixed with modern elements." -Deine Bewertung, Der Medienkonverter, Germany, February 2013

  • THE MINOR 9TH CHORD, SCOTT L HUDSON (LEAD GUITAR/KEYBOARDS FOR THE LOST HUDSONS)

The Minor 9th chord consists of a 1,b3,5,b7,9 in relation to a major scale. It is simply a Minor tirad (1,b3,5) with the addition of a b7th and the 9th. The Minor 9th chord is a staple in jazz, works well with the blues, and also makes a good substitute for a Minor 7th chord in rock.

    Cm9 - C,Eb,G,Bb,D
    Dm9 - D,F,A,C,E
    Em9 - E,G,B,D,F#
    Fm9 - F,Ab,C,Eb,G
    Gm9 - G,Bb,D,F,A
    Am9 - A,C,E,G,B
    Bm9 - B,D,F#,A,C#

  • THE BLUES SCALE, SCOTT L HUDSON (LEAD GUITAR/KEYBOARDS FOR THE LOST HUDSONS)

The blues scale is simply a minor pentatonic scale (1,b3,4,5,b7) with the addition of a diminished 5th, thus consisting of a 1,b3,4,b5,5,b7. An E blues scale would consist of the notes E, G, A, Bb, B, D, E. An A blues scale would be A, C, D, Eb, E, G, A. The D blues scale would be D, F, G, Ab, A, C, D. By using the 1,b3,4,b5,5,b7 formula in relation to a major scale, you will be able to figure out any blues scale. Obviously this scale works with the blues, but it can also be used in rock, just pay attention to the use of the diminished 5th (it works well as a passing tone between the 4th and the 5th). For a variation of this traditional blues scale, try adding the major 7th (1,b3,4,b5,5,b7,7).

    Have a great day!
