1st. and Foremost (Curtis Martin Pickens) whom is my uncle, my moms brother. He Just pasted away on Monday November 29, 2010. Curtis Pickens, a highly decorated United States Navy's elite Navy Seal, Seal Team 3- earned the Navy Cross, Silver Star, Purple Heart with Clusters, and many campaign ribbons. He served during World War II, and Korea. He was interviewed by National Geographic in October 1953-for his art work. He painted a piture of Tom, of Tom and Jerry Cartoon Fame. He also painted pictures of sharks with happy faces on all the Torpedo's that were armed on the mine sweeper he served on. After he was honorably Discharged from the Navy he served as a Detroit Police Officer, and supported my Aunt playing Drums in her Polka band, they toured Europe, and the United States. They were guests on the Lawrence Welk Show offten. Both my Aunt and Uncle were always and always will be loved by many. I miss them both. (R.I.P. Captain C.M.
