    Disarm the Descent
    No End in Sight
    Lyrics
The age of the old vision has passed away,
The birth of a new way
    This is confrontation

Struggle and pain of this life remains (Through the suffering we fight)
No end in sight (No end in sight)
The strength within our souls sustains (Until we see the light)
This determination, it feeds this fight (No end in sight)

    No end in sight

Seeing the world through hardened eyes,
    A vision of hopelessness
Reaching for the truth amongst the lies

Burn down your deception (Burn down)
There lies the way of the weak (The weak)
    Rise again conquering
    Born from destruction

Through the suffering we fight, no end in sight
Until we see the light, no end in sight

    Thrown into the endless flames
    In a world of disarray
No longer numb to the pain,
Knowing that we fight to the grave
Wash away the fear of our ignorance,
    I feel this bleeding

They will see it in our eyes
Determined to leave behind our legacy,
Burned deep into our flesh to remind us
The memories and scars that define us,
We may suffer, but nothing will break our spirit

Seeing the world through opened eyes,
Separate from the ways of the world
Blinded to the suffering, the suffering

You slid and crept away and there was nothing I could say.
So what you're trying to say is you don't wanna play.
But what you want and what you need doesn't mean f*ck to me.

In this podcast a retrospective on MACHINE HEAD. We feature music from all the MACHINE HEAD albums. Included new releases from Prosthetic Records, Nuclear Blast and Bullet Tooth Records. Independent metal artists and more!

    1. MACHINE HEAD – Davidian, Album: Burn My Eyes (1994)
BURN MY EYES was released on August 9, 1994. The album shipped nearly 400,000 copies worldwide, becoming Roadrunner Records' best selling debut album. Most of the songs on the album were songs written by Flynn and Duce during the time Flynn was not in a band, about "being pissed off" from his previous struggles in Vio-lence, as well as both of their battles with illegal drugs. In regards to the musical style, the album is credited as having bridged the gap between Pantera-style groove and the thrash metal stylings of Slayer's 80's output.

    2. MACHINE HEAD – Imperium, Album: Through the Ashes of Empires (2003)
Through the Ashes of Empires is the fifth studio album by heavy metal band Machine Head. The album does not feature any of the conventions Machine Head featured on their previous two albums, and more closely resembled the style of their debut Burn My Eyes and their second album The More Things Change...At this stage, Machine Head still did not have an American record deal, having parted ways with Roadrunner Records US after the Supercharger album was released. Through The Ashes of Empires was such a success that Roadrunner Records US, in an unprecedented move, quickly offered Machine Head a new contract.

Robb Flynn has said this was to make the harmonics of the song sound better.

    The More Things Change

    8. MACHINE HEAD – Halo, Album: The Blackening (2007)
The artwork for The Blackening is based on a metal carving in the 16th century, these carvings were used to scare people about going to Hell and for propaganda purposes. It features a skeleton on a throne that is standing on top of the world, and the words "The mirror which flatters not." Flynn thought "this whole record is like holding up a mirror to ourselves. It's talking about things that are going on now, but it's not necessarily specific to this time.

    18. MACHINE HEAD – Supercharger, Album: Supercharger (2001)
Supercharger despite being a heavier album than The Burning Red, fans of the band are often divided over the album. With The Burning Red, the band changed their sound to nu metal. Supercharger was darker and heavier than The Burning Red, but lacked the groove metal sound of Burn My Eyes and The More Things Change.... Two years later, the band would release Through the Ashes of Empires and returned to their groove metal roots.
